Hi, I’m Sophie, welcome to my world of adapted books and low-tech AAC (augmentative & alternative communication). I have always loved the print medium – everything from the history of movable type to the way a book fits inside my hands. My love for print led me to an early career working as a visual designer where I transformed people’s ideas into graphic art.

Years later, my passion for linguistics and communication led me to speech pathology, and as fate would have it, the world of AAC. To be able to play the duo role of designer and speech pathologist to serve users of AAC is both an honour and a welcomed challenge. I feel humbled by the power of the adapted book and continue to learn from AAC users how they can be used to improve learning, communication and ultimately, relationships.
